
Nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains, New Hampton has several lakes within its boundaries, including Lake Winona, Pemigewasset Lake, Sky Pond and Lake Waukewan. The Pemigewasset River also flows through New Hampton and the Ayer's Island generating facility is located there. With a history stemming from its pride in education, New Hampton is home to New Hampton School, founded in 1821, an independent, college preparatory boarding and day school serving about 300 students from grade 9 to 12 and post-graduates, as well as the New Hampton Community School, a highly regarded elementary school serving about 170 students and their families.
