WHAT IS THE "BIC"?

The Business Information Center (BIC) is a one-stop resource center designed to help entrepreneurs, students, managers and existing owners both start and successfully operate their business or organization. The BIC located on the main floor of Southern New Hampshire University - Laconia Center is one of only 7 BIC's in the state. The Belknap County Economic Development Council and Southern New Hampshire University operate the BIC free of charge for the public.

The BIC offers...

• Hundreds of books, journals, and instructional videos relating to business as well as regional and state demographics.
• Resources for non-profit entities including board management, strategic planning, fund raising and grant sources, Community Development, Main Street Programs.
• Resources for municipalities on Main Street Programs, planning, zoning, community and economic development.
• Tools necessary to write a comprehensive business plan, evaluate and improve marketing sales techniques, diversify into new products and/or service areas, price products, and explore exporting opportunities.
• High-tech hardware with internet access and software which includes Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher), Adobe Pagemaker, Pagemill, PhotoShop Deluxe, Acrobat.
• Business planning software and books such as Biz Plan Builder, Employee Manual Builder and Marketing Builder as well as Entrepreneur Magazine's Business Start-up Series.
